The official appearance of the new Jaguar E-Pace crossover in the automotive market took place in 2018, and since that time the model has been repeatedly refined. Today, many of these functions are becoming standard, so no one really surprises. If we talk about the updated crossover Jaguar E-Pace, which is officially expected in 2021, then a number of new systems will be installed on board the new model. How will the new Jaguar E-Pace look outwardly different from the current model on sale? First of all, the new crossover received an updated front end, in particular a new bumper, large air intakes on the sides, an updated radiator grill with diamond-shaped holes, as well as new LED daytime running lights. Following the above, updates have been made to the front optics, it is now the same as on the electric Jaguar I-Pace. The rest of the parts are practically the same, with the exception of the rear, where the round tailpipes of the exhaust system are designed in a mesh insert.
More changes went to the interior of the new Jaguar E-Pace 2021. In particular, the designers redesigned the front panel, where a new multimedia system with an 11.4 ″ screen is installed. Another big plus is that the owner is now provided with two SIM card slots, and not one like most cars now. It is logical that two LTE modems are available for the Internet with the ability to work similarly to a smartphone. As for the Jaguar E-Pace software, it can also be updated over the air via mobile communication or by connecting to a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The multimedia system will now be installed in all configurations of the Jaguar E-Pace, except for the basic modification. Although the basic E-Pace crossover has a simple Pivi system, it comes with a lot of useful features. For a separate surcharge, the buyer of the base Jaguar E-Pace is offered the Pivi Pro system, with an expanded list of functions. Now let's look at the driver's seat. The updated crossover received an improved digital instrument cluster, with a 12.3 ″ display. The steering wheel and transmission selector were also updated. In addition to significant changes, additional compartments for various little things appeared around the perimeter of the cabin. More expensive modifications will be completed with an air ionizer with a proprietary filter. There are fewer changes among the safety systems of the Jaguar E-Pace, engineers have improved the all-round vision system, which is now capable of responding to interference even in blind spots.
As promised by the manufacturer, the updated Jaguar E-Pace received improvements in terms of engines. It should be borne in mind that, depending on the country of delivery, the list of units may change, respectively, there will be several modifications. The basic version of the Jaguar E-Pace will receive a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a volume of 2.0 liters. The power of the unit is 250 horses and 365 Nm of torque. In tandem, there is a 9-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
It also became known that for the first time in the history of the model, the new 2021 Jaguar E-Pace Sport will be equipped with a mild hybrid, based on the same turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The total capacity of the soft installation will be 300 hp. and 400 Nm maximum torque. Given the presence of "soft installation" changes will be in the all-wheel drive system.
This modification will be equipped with the proprietary JAD AWD system (Jaguar Active Driveline). It is based on the control of the electronics, in particular the electronic wet disc clutch. Thanks to this combination, the system can transmit 100% of the torque to any wheel of the crossover with lightning speed in 100 milliseconds.
