Over the 15-year period of sales of Mitsubishi cars in the Russian market, the Outlander Crossover turned out to be one of the most popular. This is evidenced primarily by the number of sales in Russia, namely close to 200,000 units.

Since 2001, the Outlander crossover "took its first steps." The next generation of the car was demonstrated in 2005, the third in 2012. Currently sold 1,487,000 Outlander units (including the PHEV version) worldwide.

The cross arrived to the Russian market in 2003, and since 2010, the Outlander has been manufactured at the plant in the city of Kaluga "PSMA Rus". From 2010 to September of this year, the plant produced about 87,500 units of this model, the scale of sales throughout the entire Outlander period in Russia was 199,235 vehicles. But, despite this, the press service of the company in Russia reports that the second most popular Mitsubishi car for the entire period of sales of this brand in Russia is the Outlander crossover. But still Lancer is ahead of Outlander. Today Mitsubishi Outlander in our country is available with gasoline engines 2.0, 2.4 and 3.0 in accordance with 146 hp, 167 hp. and 230 hp. The first two engines are combined with a variator. The Outlander PHEV hybrid is powered by two electric motors and a two-liter gasoline engine. The minimum cost of such a modification is 2,499,000 rubles. The cost of a crossover starts at 1,399,00 rubles. Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is the leader in its segment in Europe.

Naoya Nakamura, General Director and Head of MMC Rus LLC, says that SUV class models are the most valuable for the Russian consumer, namely mid-size SUVs, the share of sales of which, according to data as of August 2016, is 30% in comparison with other groups of the SUV segment. In addition, Naoya Nakamura noted that Russian consumers prefer the Mitsubishi Outlander in this class. Mitsubishi Outlander, which is produced at the Kaluga plant, meets the demands of Russian consumers for a reliable and high-tech SUV class car with a striking design.
