A used car is always a pig in a poke. Of course, someone buys an old BMW, guided by their principles and loyalty to the brand, but there are reasons that can make him think about it.

It is definitely not worth buying a car that had three owners - this is understandable even for those who have been in public transport all their lives. Two owners are already a little better, one is almost good. Now think about how many owners should a car have, ideally? Let's leave emotions aside and not talk about the "heady smell of a new interior", there are quite objective reasons why you don't need to buy old cars.

1. Twisting the odometer

It is difficult to find an unkilled car on the secondary housing, and even at an affordable price. Some are inclined to believe that this is not possible at all. The first owners of cars, knowing that their "swallow" is under warranty, are not particularly careful during its operation. And why is it if the dealer will fix almost everything instantly ...

Then the following owners of the car are taken for finishing off the car. They treat it even worse - they rarely carry out maintenance in service centers, preferring repairs to this from dubious, but cheap pseudo-masters. But the next owners will never repair cars in specialized centers - they need it to be cheap and cheerful.

Even if you are convinced that the machine "ran" quite a bit, all the same, over time, there will be so many minor flaws in it that you will definitely not find it enough. And, by the way, about twisting the mileage: it is not at all difficult to do this, and you can set the desired mileage value on both mechanical and electronic odometers.

2. "Dead" straps and pillows

Many people believe that it is quite possible to buy a normal "wheelbarrow" with hands, which will still drive and drive. Maybe. But used cars cannot compete with new ones in terms of safety! And what could be more important than this factor ...

Cars that received 5 stars for safety 7-10 years ago can no longer compete in this parameter with modern transport. (Of course, we don't take Lada into account). In terms of safety, improvements are constantly taking place, and each new generation of machines is by definition safer than the previous one. Therefore, comparison of old and new cars in this parameter is inappropriate.

Various components of the car fail over time, and on older models, the airbag often fails. Seat belts also wear out and stop tightening as they should.

3. Obsolescence

Tell me, will you buy a TV or a phone that is already 10 years old? Of course not, because these models are already morally outdated and will not be able to meet your technical and aesthetic requirements. Technology is developing all the time, this also applies to the automotive industry.

Of course, for many, the price is of decisive importance, but maybe it is better to rethink your decision and accept it in favor of a new car, even a budget category? At least here you can get modern equipment:

  • touch cameras;
  • more advanced control systems;
  • all-round visibility systems;
  • tracking devices for the location of the car within the marking;
  • emergency braking systems.

In addition, many modern cars are equipped with parking sensors and have brake force distribution functions. If all of the above could not convince the extreme, it makes sense for them to read on.

4. Usually you don't get what you expected

Anyone who has dealt with the secondary car market knows that finding what one would like in terms of equipment is an almost impossible task.

Let's say you find a used car with seats with no obvious signs of wear and with a fairly strong motor, but it turns out that it has a manual transmission. But you really needed a car with an "automatic" and with a motor that would not force you to spend a lot on the transport tax. And you keep looking for your ideal. Sometimes it takes more than one or even three months.

Many car enthusiasts have gone through this quest. As a result, they buy not what they were looking for or not exactly what they were looking for, and reassure themselves only that the mileage of the chosen "horse" was not so great. And from the above, we already know that the mileage may also turn out to be fake - twisted. Configuring a used car to your liking is unrealistically difficult. But, buying a new car in the salon, you can adjust its functionality and make it up to your liking.

5. Saving is just an appearance

Often from fans of "secondary housing" you can hear the opinion that buyers of new cars overpay for nothing. They argue that dealers breed buyers for additional insurance, and sometimes the overpayment amounts to as much as 100,000 rubles a year. To some extent, they are right. Car dealerships, of course, will not miss their own, and attracting visitors with all sorts of promotions, they withdraw money from them for something else. This technique is called cumulative margin and serves to attract a buyer and further rip him off.

But, having bought a new car, the car owner receives a guarantee for it and in which case he can return it back to the salon. Of course, for this you have to try, but after all, a car buyer in the secondary market cannot even think about it. And under warranty, even a small breakdown becomes the reason for its free repair or even a full return of the car. Here the law is on the side of the buyers.

And what can you get from a private trader who has long dreamed of shoving a constantly naughty car? Of course, he will say that he did not even have to paint the body, that no one smoked in the cabin and his neat wife was engaged in driving a car, but can you believe him in this? And if you ask him why, then, he wants to sell it, he will drop a tight tear and tell about his difficult fate and strong desire to finally pay off the loan. But this is his business, but then you will consider how much money will be required to replace the worn out timing drive, repair the chassis and other "pleasant" little things that the seller shyly kept silent about.

You constantly have to debug and adjust something, spend money on the purchase of various parts, so the savings here are a big question.

6. Purchase on credit

You can buy a new car on credit. It is unlikely that a private trader who sells you his aged "horse" will agree to receive money from you in installments. Some people look with contempt at people who buy cars on credit, but this speaks of their financial illiteracy. All individual entrepreneurs and large corporations regularly take loans and do not consider this to be something abnormal. It so happens that people buy a car on credit, and find themselves, as they say, with profits, since rates rise, and cars become more expensive. If these people were still saving money to buy a car, they would bite their elbows, because savings are losing value.

When buying a car, you need to think ahead: will the technical parameters of the car fit in the near future, will it be satisfied with safety or design. Used cars in this sense are far behind new products.

7.Car dealership is not a guarantee of quality

Some people think that buying a used car at a car dealership will save yourself a lot of trouble. You can argue with that too. As a rule, only those cars that could not be sold in another way go to the salon for sale. But why they could not be sold to the owner himself is unknown. Here you do not have the opportunity to talk to the owner of the car and find out from him about all his ailments. Although the owner himself can tell so many tales ...

Usually, salons do not allow diagnosing cars on third-party services, so it is hardly possible to get an objective picture of its condition. BUT there is nothing to say about the "gray" salons - they brazenly deceive buyers and begin to deceive even with the announcement of the sale of the car, in which they greatly embellish its condition.

8. Legal purity is important

Choosing an authorized dealer's salon, you will not go wrong, as here you can not be afraid of scammers. Buying a new car, you get the confidence that it is not mortgaged to anyone, is not hijacked, is not under arrest. The same cannot be said about buying an old car, and this applies both to buying from a private owner and in the salon, especially in the "gray" one.

9. Paperwork

When choosing a used car, you need to be able to draw up the documents correctly, which may be needed when registering it with regulatory authorities. There may be duplicates among the documentation - this is generally a serious reason to think. In this case, you will have to spend time on additional verification of the purity of the transaction. When buying a new car, there is no need for all these procedures.

10. Back to the past

In Soviet times, it was believed that it was better to buy a car from hands. This statement had a good reason - often cars with a lot of imperfections came off the assembly line, and the first owners perfected them for a long time and persistently, tightening up and tightening up all the flaws. The second owner came to everything ready.

Now there are no such problems, except for the "raw" new products of the automotive industry. Therefore, buying a used car is something that was ubiquitous during the Soviet era, but can hardly be justified today.

Of course, this article will not convince everyone, but such a goal was not set. People will always buy used cars based on economic considerations. Not everyone has the money to buy cars in the showroom. But today there is the possibility of buying on credit, so is it worth saving on your security?
