It is often very rare to see a new generation of a car before the official premiere or even a preview. One of the fans of hunting for such cars managed to see the new generation of the Mercedes-Benz GLE 2019 at Frankfurt am Main airport, while the crossover was almost without camouflage, which is also considered a rarity. Prior to this, the novelty was seen in the vicinity of Stuttgart, but then the Mercedes-Benz GLE was in camouflage, and only the rear was visible, in contrast to the current case.
The basis for the new Mercedes-Benz GLE 2019 was the modular platform MHA - Modular High Architecture, as a result, this made it possible to increase the space in the crossover's cabin and the volume of the luggage compartment. In terms of dimensions, the new GLE is 20 mm longer than the previous generation and 80 mm larger in wheelbase. The new generation of this Mercedes-Benz has acquired an active hydro-spring suspension E-Active Body Control, which allows you to control each wheel separately and adjust the stiffness of each shock absorber depending on the road surface.
By selecting the Off-Road Plus mode, the suspension can raise the Mercedes-Benz GLE's body by 5 centimeters, which allows it to navigate some problem areas of the road. The crossover now also comes standard with an electronically controlled wet-clutch center differential. For an additional fee, the manufacturer offers to install a two-stage transfer case on the Mercedes-Benz GLE 2019.
As for the units of the new Mercedes-Benz GLE 2019, the new generation will acquire new engines. According to preliminary information, the list of gasoline units will include a turbocharged engine with a volume of 2.0 liters and a capacity of 250 horses. Inline turbocharged 6-cylinder engine with a volume of 3.0 liters and a capacity of 362 horses, as well as an inflatable V8 with a volume of 4.0 liters in two versions, with a capacity of 571 and 612 horses.
In addition to gasoline engines, the manufacturer promised to equip the Mercedes-Benz GLE with diesel engines, but there is no information about them yet. Serial production of the new generation Mercedes-Benz GLE 2019 will start this fall at the brand's plant in the USA. The official start of the sale of new items is planned to begin no earlier than the first months of 2019, at the same time the cost of the crossover will be announced.
